Finding Truth

What does it truly mean to quench the deepest thirst of the human soul? This  weeks message takes us on a journey through the noise and confusion of modern life, where social media, self-help culture, crystals, energy healing, and countless other spiritual alternatives compete for our attention and allegiance. Drawing on the encounter between Jesus and the Samaritan woman in John 4, we are reminded that no matter how many wells we draw from, only one source can satisfy what we are really searching for. The woman at the well kept returning to relationships, to the familiar routine of drawing water alone in the heat of the day, because nothing had yet filled the void within her. Jesus met her right there and offered something entirely different, a living water that does not run dry but becomes a spring bubbling up from the inside. That image is not just poetic. It speaks to something we all recognize, the restless searching that keeps us moving from one thing to the next, hoping something will finally feel like enough. This message challenges us to honestly examine what we are turning to when life feels empty, and to consider whether those things are pointing us toward the source or away from it.

The world offers mirages that look like water but lead only to more searching. Jesus does not offer a temporary fix. He offers living water that becomes a spring welling up from within. Today, ask yourself honestly: what have you been drinking from? Return to the one true source.

Practical Application: Set aside ten minutes today to sit quietly before the Lord and ask Him to identify any substitute sources you have been relying on. Write them down and surrender them in prayer.

Prayer: Father, reveal every place in my life where I’ve tried to fill the emptiness with anything but Christ. Expose the substitutes, break their hold, and turn my heart fully toward Jesus. Fill me with Your Spirit, satisfy me with Your presence, and teach me to rest in You alone. Amen.
